Hindu group asks Amazon to stop selling leggings with images of Hindu gods

A line of women's leggings carrying images of Hindu gods and goddesses available for purchase on Amazon.com, seems to have upset some Hindus who have demanded Amazon.com, headquartered in Seattle (USA), to remove those leggings from its site immediately, calling them inappropriate.
President of Universal Society of Hinduism Rajan Zed, in a statement in Nevada (USA), said that Hindu gods and goddesses were highly revered in Hinduism and were meant to be worshipped in temples or home shrines and not to be worn around one’s legs, crotch and hips.

He has also asked for a formal apology from the online retailer.
The leggings are from the clothing brand Yizzam and are priced in the range of $48.00 - $52.00. The images of Ganesha, Shiva, Brahma, Muruga, Bajrang Bali, Rama and Radha Krishna are among the ones used on the leggings.
The other products, though from different brands, on the site, that some have found objectionable in the use of images of Hindu gods and goddesses are a yoga pant and sneaker shoelace decorations.
